I have had several requests for a post on how to tie and wear a blanket scarf, so here you have it! They are great accessories and are really warm, but they can be very tricky to maneuver. Below I have listed four different tutorials on how you can wear these: Option 1 - The Blanket Cape Open the scarf completely, drape it around your shoulders and arms leaving the front open. Adjust as necessary to make it even on both sides. Option 2 - The Classic This is probably the most popular way to tie a blanket scarf. Fold the square diagonally so that two corners match up forming a triangle. Gather the ends and put the center of the scarf in the middle of your body; then criss cross the ends behind your neck and pull them around to the front. Tuck each end of the scarf under to create the drapey look. Options 3 - The Drape Keep the scarf folded in the triangle shape; pull it around your shoulders draping one side across your body over the opposite shoulder. This creates an asymetrical look while still keeping your arms and shoulders warm. Option 4 - The Infinity This way makes the scarf look and function like an infinity scarf. Take the scarf folded on an angle and scrunch it up. Place the center around the back of your neck. Wrap each side around and tuck into the back. Tuck in any additional corners hanging out and adjust as necessary to create the circular form. Here are a few of my favoirte blanket scarves! Number Fourteen Boutique , owned by my bestie Bri . Happy 1 year anniversary to us!!! And to Y-O-U; after all you all are the reason I am able to continue to do what I love! So today I figured we would take a little walk down memory lane and revisit some of my favorite posts from this past year... A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my loyal followers, new followers, family & friends who support my little creative corner of the World Wide Web! Get your party pants on because this week will be a celebration!! Cheers to you & to us & to many more years! Thank you for reading - XX - Molly Working from home has become much more of the "norm" for many people these days. It can be a wonderful thing, but it can also be really challanging. Take it from someone who has worked from home for her last 2 jobs, it can be tricky navigating work life and home life--the lines between the two can become easily blurred. Take a peek below at some of my tips & tricks that work to help keep me on track both professionally and personally. Tips & Tricks - How to work from home successfully -Make a schedule or routine for yourself and stick to it (This is not always easy for me, but I feel much better and I am more productive when I follow a schedule). -Always get up & get dressed. Even if you pull your hair up and put on a cute workout outfit; get ready for your day. It puts you in the right mindset -Make a weekly list for Monday through Friday and write down your daily tasks and accomplishments. Once you finish each; cross it off. There is something very rewarding in being able to remove things from your "to-do list." -Take a break. Get outside--breathe some fresh air; take a brisk walk around the block. Getting your blood flowing helps your cognitive skills. This is a great tip for office dwellers as well! -Be sure to take your lunch break. It can be really easy to get wrapped up in everything when you're at home and skip lunch or eat at your desk. Get up; go make a lunch; sit somewhere different. When you return to your work, you will be refreshed. -Schedule meetings, calls, lunch dates, afternoon cocktails. These are all great ways to help get you out of the house and socializing with others. Working from home can be mundane and isolating, so you will have to make the extra effort to plan things with colleagues and friends. -Have a designated work area. A specific room or desk is awesome, but you don't have to have that to be successful. Even if it is one spot or end of your dining table, make that your space and do your very best to only do your work from that space. This helps keep the home-life and work-life separated -Keep office hours for yourself. Working from home is convenient and can be flexible, but it can also easily become "work from anywhere all the time." Setting specific work hours helps keep you on track and focused. -It's ok to throw in a load of laundry or unload the dishwasher. Go easy on yourself; working from home has many convenient perks; don't abuse them but certainly use them. It's ok to take a few minutes to get things going or in order. Shop my favorite desk accessories below! I'm convinced when your desk is cute your work is better :) -Lucite Tape Dispenser -Lucite Stapler -Favorite Desk Calendars - here, here, & here -Lucite Paper Organizer -Scissors -Pens -Note Pad - here Thanks for reading, y'all!! Hope these little bits of advice help! Comment & let me know if you have any others to add! Cheers to a productive new year! XX-Molly 2016 involved many adventures for both me and my hubby. We visited many of our favorite places; traveled for work; traveled near and far for weddings of our dear friends; and visited new destinations! First up - Savannah! This is my favorite place & holds sentimental value to both of us. We decided to get out of town for an early anniversay trip. Check out our top Savannah adventures here. In March I scooted off to Nashville for a bachelorette party, and it was a BLAST! So happy I got to check this off my bucket list. Check out my Nashville post here. A few short weeks later I hopped off to Delray Beach Florida for another friend's bachelorette weekend. This cute little Florida town is FABULOUS and quickly became one of my favorite beach towns. The beach is white sand, the water is teal blue, and the shopping and resturants are wonderful (and within walking distance)! Check out my favorite Delray spots here. Every April I head to High Point, North Carolina for spring furniture market! All of the new trends are out, and it is the hub of the international home furnishings and design industry. Check out my re-cap of this year's trends here. In later April my friend, Ashton, got married at a beautiful barn location in West Georgia. It was a perfect day for a perfect couple, and Conner and I feel so blessed to have been a part of it! Check out my post here. We kicked off the month of May with another wedding in Virginia. The trip started off rocky with a delayed and cancelled flight and lost luggage, but it was quickly reedemed with a girls' night at the Grandover Resort with my bestie. The wedding day was a perfect spring afternoon--with great food, good drinks, and even better company! Check out a full re-cap of our trip here. After moving back to Charlotte from NYC in June, we took a break and spent a week with family celebrating the 4th of July at the Wild Dunes Resort on Isle of Palms, SC . Click here to check out what I packed, where we ate, and our favorite things to do! The end of July was wrapped up with my bestie's wedding weekend in Pittsburgh, PA!! To say we had a blast would be an understatement. It was a perfect weekend for the perfect couple, and we were so blessed to be a part of their big day. Not to mention, Pittsburgh is one of the most fun and friendly cities I've ever visited. Click here to see all of the wedding pictures & tips on Pittsburgh! After all the fun, I headed to Las Vegas for a work trip... there could be worse places right? Of course I hit up all of my favorite places and got caught up on all of the upcoming trends in home fashions. Click here to read the full post. We wrapped up the summer with a quick trip down to Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. We survived a hurricane and had two beautiful days on the beach. Check it out here! In September I went back to NYC for another work trip. Even though this trip was for work, it was one of my favorites of the year. Our hotel overlooked One World Trade Center, and I just happened to be there on the 15th anniversary of 9/11. I will never forget this special moment of being able to pay my respects to all of the heroes. I also was able to revisit all of my favorite little spots and catch up with all of my favorite NYC peeps! This city will always have a piece of my heart. We hopped back down to the beach for the end of September and the first weekend of fall to celebrate my Paw-Paw's 80th birthday. There was a big surprise party with all of his friends and family. Beach time and family time -- there's nothin' better! Every November, we spent the weekend in Lexington, VA with my husband's college friends. It has officially been named "Roo-union" weekend since Virginia Military Institute's mascot is a Kangaroo. It's always a fun time filled with friends, tailgating, and mimosas! We wrapped up November with Thanksgiving in Georgia! The first weekend of December we headed back to Lexington, VA for a magical holiday wedding of two dear friends. It was the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season! This was one of my favorite posts of the year; check it out here.
